W E L C O M E Kick Butt BBQ has gone cyber, and created a website to keep folks informed of what is happening, manage the demand for sauce and meat orders, and post pictures. ORIGIN OF 'Kick Butt BBQ' I get asked all the time 'how did you come up with the name - Kick Butt BBQ'. Well, here is the story... My friend Terry Paxton & I had the grand idea of competing in the American Royal, and conned one of my previous employers into sponsoring the event. So, the corporate types came up with a name reflective of the company - 'BBQ Solutions' (they were a Microsoft consulting practice). Anyway, after competing under that name for a couple years, I parted ways (not by choice) with the company and did not really want to carry on such a lame team name. So, we were tossing around ideas for names (many of which were not acceptable to our spouses). My daughter, Emma (then 5), said - 'Dad, your BBQ kicks butt!'. And that my friends is how we got our name - from a sweet innocent 5 year old girl.
